Here is a little story from Pam Curry. She is a GFP!
For the first time in my life, I consider myself an athlete.
To me An athlete is a person with an attitude that takes on challenges head on, a person that believes in themselves and strives to be the best.
Over the past month I have developed an attitude that when summed up is me just always saying "yes, I can," something that I've never heard myself say before... I mainly heard, especially when i was growing up, "no you can't" and many other negative sayings that created a lifestyle where I would give up before I even started.
However now I strive to be better than yesterday.
For once i find Every challenge exciting instead of frightening.
Every day is a new opportunity to kick my butt and feel proud of myself.
Every dream i have, for once, i feel is an attainable reality.
All Bc I can finally say and believe "yes, I can."
.... an attitude that I developed simply by going to Crossfit.
So with that, I want to say thank you to all of the coaches for yelling at me. For yelling "you can do this, you got this" even when i was saying "no i cant" in response...
Yall, by doing so, have destroyed my old fears and self doubts That have been the foundation of my life. Every word of encouragement, every piece of advice, every time y'all yelled to not give up... Drowned out my no i cants and Broke that negative foundation and helped me build self confidence.
That is why I am always smiling at crossfit.
My life... Not just my physical self... But my entire life has changed because of my experiences at crossfit. Every class I go to I take something positive back from it. Whether its mastering something simple as box jumps or adding more weight to the bar, it's a monumental moment for me because I said to myself yes I can.
I will be forever grateful for the first day I saw the crossfit sign and decided to join.
So once more I just wanted to say thank you for starting a crossfit in Warwick. You are changing lives, physically and mentally, for the better. And for me, as silky as it seems, the fact that I say "yes I can" and genuinely believe in myself is the greatest gift I could have ever asked for.
Yes you will be rowing!
